Solidarity with India: How charities on Raisely are helping with the crisis

Raisely empowers thousands of charities across the world in their fundraising. Join us in helping those suffering through this second wave in India. Here are some great campaigns you can support.

You've probably heard by now that India is experiencing a horrifying second wave of COVID19. Makeshift outdoor crematoriums are running day and night to keep up with the deaths which are still surging, with over 4,000 lives taken by the disease each day. We can only imagine how many have gone unreported.

And while many of us have friends or family who have been vaccinated, if we're not vaccinated ourselves, poor nations may not be able to achieve widespread vaccination until 2023.

There has been some good news. The United States has recently announced support for a patent waiver which would remove one of the hurdles to poorer nations being able to access the vaccine. Although the vaccines are largely the result of public funding, requests by India and South Africa to waive the patents held for the vaccines by pharmaceutical companies have been blocked by wealthy nations.

This policy turnaround by the United States is a real credit to the organisations leading the #PeoplesVaccine effort.

But there is still more work to be done for a People's Vaccine to become a reality, and a very urgent and serious crisis needing immediate medical supplies and support in India.

Raisely exists for the well-being of people and the planet, it's why we all come to work every day. So we've been watching this crisis and trying to find ways to help.

We didn't need to look far, because already charities are raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the crisis – on and off Raisely.

If, like us, you want to help those suffering through this second wave in India, here are some great campaigns to support.

If you're running a campaign for India on Raisely and you're not here, let us know. We'll add you right away!

How we're promoting these campaigns

We wanted an easy way to promote these campaigns ourselves on our website, and we know you also need easy ways to promote your work when it's urgent too.

We've added a bar to the top of our website, linking here. It's a small step, but we hope it'll encourage some people to give who otherwise wouldn't.

If you want to add a bar to your Raisely website, then just:

  1. Go to your Header & Footer Page
  2. Add a row above your menu, give it a prominent background colour and insert your call to action.

We want to help

If you're a charity fundraising for, or working on the crisis in India our team is standing by to help. We can help you optimise your campaign, volunteer our time for something you need (we're good at digital things), or help you get an appeal live today. 🙋

And that offer stands until poor countries get access to the vaccines they need to be safe from this horrible virus.

Until everyone is safe, no one is safe.
