Starjam is a New Zealand-based not-for-profit dedicated to empowering young people with disabilities through music and performance workshops. Facing the dire reality of having to shut down due to severe financial constraints, Starjam needed to raise $100,000 in just two weeks to continue their operations. The critical goal was clear: save Starjam and ensure the continuation of their life-changing workshops.
With only a few days to act, Starjam turned to Raisely's platform to create and launch an emergency appeal titled Save our Starjam (SOS). The campaign was easy to set up and launch, even under tight deadlines. The intuitive interface and user-friendly design of Raisely's tools enabled a volunteer to build the appeal page within four days!
Normally for any event like this I would have wanted to have a plan in place for six months. Didn't work out that way, but it was super successful without that. It was just so quick and easy that we got miles further than we anticipated because of the Raisely platform.
The appeal highlighted the significant impact of Starjam's work over the past 22 years, providing a safe and empowering space for young people with disabilities. The urgency of the situation was communicated effectively through the campaign, compelling supporters to act quickly.
It was a resounding success! Within the first two days, the campaign met its initial target, ultimately raising NZ$184,576 online and an additional NZ$65,000 from major donors.
This was an extraordinary outcome for Starjam's first-ever fundraising appeal, made possible by the swift and user-friendly capabilities of Raisely's platform. The interactive website features, such as a dynamic donation tracker, kept their "Jammers" engaged and motivated throughout the campaign, celebrating every dollar raised.
By exceeding their fundraising goals, Starjam not only secured the immediate future of their workshops but also set the stage for sustainable fundraising strategies, including a planned yearly peer-to-peer campaign.
Faced with the threat of closure due to the cost of living crisis, increased costs and reduced funding streams, Starjam needed to raise NZ$100,000 in two weeks to continue providing vital workshops for young people with disabilities.
Raisely's easy to use fundraising platform enabled Starjam to build an emergency appeal campaign that beat their goal in just two days - and raised over NZ$ 250,000 in total.
